Ska Guitar

Post by barkenphish »

Hey I was wondering what kind of pedals or what you need to do to get that skanky sound when playing ska guitar? Thanks

that skanky sound is just clean guitar with some simple mutes and a lot of upstrokes.

i think danelectro makes a pedal that can make it sound a little more fukll when played clean (not a good description, i know)

IMO ska music is pretty hard to write (a catchy riff) and not that easy to play and sing at the same time.

negastory good buddy. you obviously don't listen to a lot of ska. Maybe classic ska like madness was liek that, but a lot of really good catchy new ska has a mix of some barre chords, but a lot of strange fingerings on the bottom 3 strings, and nowhere near the same strum pattern, I don't see how you can say that unless you are just talking out of your ass.
