OH! If you CAN find a De Armond, defintley get it. I love mine, so much, and they are very well built lower lines, the best that I know of. Also, I have never heard any PRS that can sound like a Les Paul.
If ur goin for metal...Id say a Jackson. Theyre actually great guitars. I have a DXMG that ran about $429 at guitar center. Its great for metal and rock cause it has 2 Emg pickups. Plus the clean sound is really clear and crisp.
