Tripping Billies tab

I've just watched Pat's video and the Storyteller version of Tripping Billies and, I might be wrong but they don't look like the tab on this site... Does anybody have correct version?

Thanks a lot

Pat Play's the same thing as the tab on the site. only difference is the hammer on instead of a slide on G string 4/5 thats all!

How long have you been playing, can you play a lot of Daves songs? It might take you a VERY long time to learn this if not, and might not even be a good idea to try until youre a little more advanced.

I disagree. For me at least, learning really hard songs progressed my playing ability greatly. I would suggest attempting songs like Billies, Satellite, The Stone, etc. Just keep in mind that they may take a while to sound perfect. That way you will be practicing advanced stuff early, and thus progressing to that point earlier.

If the kids just starting out, its practically pointless to try to learn this song first. Im not pretending to know his ability, Im just stating that if he is just starting out, its not a good idea. How far along were you before you tried Billies/Satellite/Stone/etc.

Probably a year or so playing. I knew just basic chords and barreing and what not then. I agree with that if he is only just starting out. But eventually it is a good idea to attempt songs beyond your level.

Well, I'm not just starting out. I already play some songs (Crash, Grey Streets, #41, etc). I know Billies is hard but I like the challenge.

I think playing really hard songs starting out will create a lot of bad habits. It seems like Dave songs create bad habits for some reason.

i agree, if you can play dave songs but cant play chord songs well or blues and improvs etc, you wont be an all round guitar player.

its kind of like teaching a dog to roll over before you taught it to sit.

That works if you want to learn that stuff. But say you just want to progress in playing regular songs and not so much in advanced guitar techniques.

Ive only been playing for about 7 months, started playing dave, and i really never tried to play anything else. But i just started to work on billies and have been working on stone for about two weeks and must say that billies (imo) is much easier to play than stone. I can play the whole song at about half- three quarters speed and i have only been working on it for 3 days. Where as with stone i can play everything but the most important thing.....the damn VERSE!

i guess it just depends on how fast your progression is
