Up and Away Tab

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

Up and Away Tab

Post by DreaminBassMunky »

Probably one of my top 3 on the album. Here's my attempt at the tab.

Code: Select all

Verse part 1/intro
-----------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------
----9-----7----5---4----4-2-0----2-0----0------
----10----9----7---5-----------4-------4-------
-----------------------------------------------
--8-----7----5-----3---------------------------

End of Verse
---------------
---------------
--4----7---5---
--5----9---7---
---------------
--3----7---5---

Up and Away Part
---------------------------------
---------------------------------
--4---11---9----7---4---7---5----
--5---12---10---9---5---9---7----
---------------------------------
--3---10---8----7---3---7---5----

After the next verse the end verse part repeats twice and then you go into the breakdown:
-----------------------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------------------
7--5--3--2--5--3--7----9---5--11---9---7--4--7--5*---------
8--6--5--3--6--5--8----10--7--12--10--9--5--9--7-----------
-----------------------------------------------------------
6--4--3--1--4--3--6----8---5--10---8---7--3--7--5----------

*I am unsure if this note is played because the last chord doesn't sound all that minor to me.

Song Breakdown:
Intro x2
Verse x3
End of Verse x 1
Intro** x 1
Verse x 3
End of Verse x 1
Intro x 1
Up and Away part x 1
Intro x 2
Verse x 3
End of Verse x 1
Breakdown x 1
Verse x 3
End of Verse x 1
Outro*** x as needed

**Intro and verse are the same, only the verse is with words. Duh :-D

***Outro is simply the chords of the verse, and then ending on a C.

Hope you enjoy it, comments, and corrections are always welcome/

Well, some parts are hard to hear with the rest of the instruments. Sounds good though, if not correct, it is close . . . meaning good job :) . I didn't really look at this tab til recently, don't know why I didn't.
Yes, I am in a box

just as a side note, as im sure all of you can tell, dave doesnt just pick the single notes, he strums them all while muting the other strings ... sounds cool as hell.

Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking. Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away. Forget about the guilty, we are innocent instead, for soon we shall all find our lives swept away.
