Whats with some guitar players using their thumbs?

I said I'm not worried about it. I'm always getting better. arn't you? yo, I'm listening to La La La. very good. really slow to download shit with this computer, but I'll try to listen to em all.

I can do both. But since it's generally easier to use the thumb, I try to learn it without it first.

Ever watched Dave play?

He uses his thumb in several songs...

Anytime he does a standard D chord he uses his thumb on the 2nd fret.

He also sometimes uses it in Rapunzel during the verse, and used to use it in LLD.

It's not poor guitarmanship to use your thumb...

he's not actually using his thumb to fret a note, its just there when he adjust his wrists for certain chord formations, like D

I dont have a prob w/ people using their thumb. I wouldnt be able to play #40 without it
