I've seen his taylor tons of times and compared it to the one at my local guitar center and see differences. Daves looking liek it is 2 pieces of wood on the top and a shade or two darker then the englishmen spruce on the taylors you see in stores. Does anyone know why?
Also, no two guitars are going to sounds alike, even though they are the same model. When I went shopping for my D-18GE i played about 5 different ones before i got one.

No two pieces of wood are going to look the same or have the exact same colour, so thats probably why they look different. Also could be the lighting differences.

Can you purchase the 914ce with the runout wihtout going directly from Taylor?

I don't know little about guitars I play mostly electric, I build my own. I've been playing guitar for about 15 years. But I'm not in the searching for that particular guitar I just was curious about his model.
