its best to be able to do both, you can get some many different tones if you can do both

Yea, i ussually use both too, i fingerpick or kinda finger strum and then when i get to a lead or a more driving part of a song I use a pick, i keep the pick tucked under my 2nd finger so i can grab it really quick.

picks

Post by freshead16 »

ya i can play both, and i usually do. but it seems when i play with a pick, a lot of times it drowns out my voice. that doesnt happen without one. it also depends on the song. like songs with lots of open chords i like to use my nails/fingers, but when i play songs with less than full chords, ex. OSW i like to use picks. but i was wondering mostly if i were to play live would i get enough guitar sound without one?

Im off at college, and I dont have a computer in my room, but I come home to my parents home alot and use their computer. I was supposed to start recording my solo album today, But the guy had some computer problems. I did some home recordings today and relized i really dont like my voice so mabey I make an instrumental album. I got an upright bass, my acoustic, a djembe player(for the week), and ive been listening to django all day, so something cool might come out tommarrow. If i do get something down i will post it. Hopefully Ill be coming around more

instrumental all the way baby!

and if you pull out some django-esque playing, i will probably go nuts.

yeah i love those things(djembes), but i have no hand drumming rythym(when people clap in unison at a game or something im the one jackass who messes up the beat), so my friend is gonna do all that drumming stuff.
