Audacity effects help

Post by dmb66 »

Yes, it's true, I use audacity because I am cheap. But that's beyond the point.

Here's my question. Does anyone know of decent noise removal vst plugins and where to find them The one included in audacity is less than satisfactory and results in some ugly digital processing sounds in my recordings. Thanks for your time.

Noise removal in general has that problem. I've been long plagued with noise problems, have you yet isolated what it is that's causing the noise? I might be able to help you a bit with it.

I've never used audicity but I assume it has a equalizer. You can notch out the frequency of the noise. If it covers many frequencies then I'm not sure.

unfortunately, i believe the noise is due to some electrical noise in my computer and it results in a very high pitched his. If you want to hear what I am talking about, listen to a recording I did on http://www.myspace.com/gracesgrandsons5 namely the o.a.r. cover. it seems that every time i use the noise removal feature in audacity, it only hightens the intensity of this noise and unfortunately it switches tones so it is impossible to remove with an equalizer without losing a significant bit of the character of the song.

thanks.
