Same here!
I sucked really bad at singing. I've posted a couple songs and one guy on here pointed out what was wrong, I was singing out of key. I took a couple lessons and she showed me how to fix them, when I'm off, exercises and key things to work on. I'm still not all that great, but getting better everyday. I drive a lot and singing in the car has help me out a lot. I can sing from the top of my lungs and not bother anybody. Just make sure you have the windows up at a red light, I've made the mistake a couple times, but got one girls number D
ive was in choir from 4th-12th grade, Select Choir 8th-12th, did NYSSMA twice, All-County Choir every year, All-State Choir senior year, drama club from 8th-12th grade....so yeah, i learned to sing early and kept it goin

i'm still not sure i'm doing this whole breathing thing right. like when you sing is your stomach supposed to be pushing and visibly moving on every note or do you sing as you inhale, hold, and exhale? (sorry if THAT'S not english)

really this only saves you from having to sing a half step. changing the key is a bigger difference. i know that just capo'ing up at five can make a song easier cuz then you can sing in the lower key and play in the higher. i really don't think a half step is making as big a diference in your singing as you would imagine. it can add a lot of depth and low end to a song but i can;t see how a half step is enough to make is so much easier. then again, paul simon tunes a quarter step flat on all of his albums and concerts for some good reason...

For me, the half step makes a big difference, especially on open chords. Now, I dont know if its just mental (and it very well may be) but I prefer it to standard for singing purposes.
