So, I have a recording question that I cant figure out for the life of me. When I'm recording a song with multiple layers (specifically, multiple guitar parts), I would record a guitar part first, export as an mp3, then play that in winamp as I'm recording the second guitar part in over it in Audacity. I would expect Audacity to play the already-recorded parts as I'm simultaneously recording another part, but it doesnt happen. Am I doing somethign wrong?

It also seems that a good majority of you are Cool Edit Pro users.. I downloaded that demo software a couple weeks ago, recorded something, then almost had a heart attack when I found out it would only export the first 60 seconds unless I bought the full $200 version. Cool Edit Pro users, did you all really pay the cash?

Thanks in advance! :D

In Audacity, there's some kind of option under "preferences" that you have to set....something like "playback track while recording new one"...it's as simple as clicking that option "on"
