First open mic nite.....

I have an extremely hard time singing while playing -- it's really aggrivating. My brain only lets me do one thing at a time.

Try playing while reading. It will help you to get down the doing more than one thing at a time thing.

wow i can sing and play at the same time because there's at least some similarity like certain words being sang when you hit certain note and that helps you time when to sing as you play but i can't imagine just reading something completely different and playing at the same time

that just shows you need to practice more. with time and practice you'll be able to. once you can do that, you'll be able to sing and play at the same time.

i used to practice by talking to a girl on the phone while playing. you pass the test when they don't scream "WHY AREN'T YOU TALKING TO ME?! PUT DOWN THE GUITAR!!"
