sure thing, I just have to wait for an IP check and you are in.
but before I can upload shows for you, can you yousendit something for us... ...that is if you can!!!!!
im just playing. when I get an IP check and you're cool i'll make sure to post something good for you.
i'm uploading 2 live performances (videos) of the full band. 1 in 2005, one in 2003. I wont be back on this computer till tomorrow anyways. so if anyone wants info on the shows just PM me and i;'ll give you more info and if you want it let me know and i'll PM you a link tomorrow,.
the shows people are uploading in here...are they lossless or mp3/m4u/wma/wav etc? just wondering before I download them...thanks a lot, and thanks to all the uploaders even if i don't end up taking any of the shows...sharing the love is what it's all about!

your PM was sent.
all of the shows being hosted are mp3 or m4a
wma or shn are usually too big for most people and take longer to host. also, like i statd in the title, i am hosting them to put on ipods etc... where quality isnt as oimportant. hopefully you'll find some stuff you like, however guys, my IT department blocked me from yousendit.com
does it take a lot of bandwidth?
so my hosting will be very limited, i might just zip multiple shows at once and hook them up as a package deal
thanks for the info guys...i remember back in the day when I had no idea about what to do with flac/shn files so I stuck to mp3s...definitely helps the noobs out there...or those who don't know how to convert them....or those who are lazy sometimes and just want to pick up an mp3 show for their ipod

mine depends on what format i have the show in. i try to only trade shns now, because the traders get pissed.
I could care less of what the traders think. If they didnt personally record it, host it, and include a text file saying what format they want it traded in, then fuck em.
Like I said before, Jesus Christ, this is something the dead use to do, with fucking cassette tapes, and everyone would just copy and sent the shit out of those. do you think anyone cared back then? I think DMB fans are just too elitist and snobby at times.

i have yet to encounter anyone who could tell the difference in sound between a lossless file (.shn or .flac) and lossy (.mp3 or .wma or .m4a). if you are listening to music on your computer or mpm3 player you are not using equipment good enough that you'd hear the differences.
i understand the point of trying not to degrade the quality of the recording, but who doesn't convert all their giant lossless stuff to lossy formats?

couldnt agree more (awaits flaming) 95% of the people could give a shit less, or cant tell a difference. plus when i get shows i convert them to mp3 so i save space on my computer and my ipod.
edit: and many of the dead shows you mentioned are still floating around, i have a few from the guy who taught me to play the guitar and they were on cassettes.
I usually decode my shows/cd's at 192. There's been quite a few times where I have had to go back and re-rip the cd into apple lossless because the lossy files sounded horrible. This usually happens with my classical music and some of my shows that aren't mixed properly (you can especially hear it during the high end notes, like cymbal crashes)

the drums usually tip me off too, but most of the time it still sounds fine
