What does Dave use for distortion on SU?

I was listening to Stand Up off WOTR and i never realized he has distortion added to his acoustic. I know Butch plays the same part but you can tell between the two. Acoustic guitar and distortion? hows that work?

Either he's playing an electirc guitar, or Butch is doing the electric guitar sound on his keys

Well its the one from the dvd, so he is playing the acoustic. but you can distinctly tell there are 2 differant instruments with distortion. i dont get it

dosen't it say on the album that Baston played keys on every track. that might be the afformentioned distortion. i remember reading the liner notes and butch wasn't listed, just baston.

Im talking about it being played live. the version off WOTR for example. there are 2 differant instruments playing with distortion

Its not, You can CLEARLY hear butchs keys with distortion, and you can hear dave with distortion. and he is not playing the electric on the DVD. this is weird as hell. just listen to the intro that was on the best of WOTR. you will hear what im talking about

It is possible to add distortion/overdrive to an electric acoustic. And I believe that was done on this song. As well as American Baby.

very true, i run my accoustic through a distortion pedal sometimes, it actually works pretty well. Doesn't sound as good as an electric but as long as you have some kind of piezo pickup, it will work.

maybe hes using whatever that thing is that he uses on busted stuff... i had a live video of them playing busted stuff and dave was using an acoustic with a bit of overdrive or something. I think i remember Ranting thespien talking about it cuz he got whatever the device is for his guitar... ok im stoned, good luck on deciphering whatever i just wrote...peace bitches

damn good question, im listening to WOTR and you can first hear steffans funky bass line than the distorted guitar, than the keys, the keys are easily distinguishable, which makes me think dave has to be using some sort of effect?
