flac decode

how can i be able to play flac files on itunes? wat do i have to download to make it work? flac frontend sucks it doesnt work ne other suggestions

FLAC frontend works great for me! Are you sure you are using it correctly.

you can burn them onto a cd, then upload the cd to itunes.

If you play them with fubar2000, you can decode it to wav. and then use any converter from there to get it to mp3.

I use dBPowerAmp Music Converter to convert flac and shn files straight to mp3s. Works great and it's free.

Why gah mp3? There is no point to having a huge wav file on your iPod or similar.

yeah..and am i crazy, or is the difference of quality really not that huge? i don't listen to an mp3 and then i'm like "OH MY GOD THAT SOUNDS LIKE SHIT!" and then listen to a .wav and be like "oh my god..heaven"

You can't even tell the difference with first-gen mp3s that are at a decent bitrate (192+) and wav or shn or flac

The problem I have is not with the sound quality. It's that this cat is likely going to keep just the mp3s, which he'll burn to CD for his friends.

His friends will then rip it to 128 kbps AAC in iTunes because they haven't changed the settings.

Then those kids burn it for their little brothers and sisters, who rip it in wma, because they don't know how to install anything else.

I want to know of any recordings that will survive that line, which is very typical.

My god i think he's on to something

I really wish i'd have kept my dmb show collection in shn, all my shows are converted to wav. and burned on to cd. Do you know how many cd's nearly 800 shows takes up?

ouch...yeah, with shn I can usually fit 2-3 shows on one CD. depends on the shows though.
