Please take a very hard look at Seagull. They are Canadian made and in most cases overlooked but they are very fine guitars for the price and happen to be right in the range you are looking to spend. Also, they just unveiled a new bracing and top curvature system this year which in my opinion has opened up the sound even more (I've played a decent number in the store).
