So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

I don't know what the strumming pattern is, mainly because i don't like, think things out.. just listen to a dave only version(ex.mtv or yahoo broadcast) and you'll get it..

dd uu dd. d is down, u is up. i hate that. i think you should just listen to the song until you hear how to do it. then you start picking it up easily.

you don't, its stupid and only complicats matters, if you can't feel the strumming pattern naturally, then learn a different song

sorry fatjack I think I'll have to bash you and say that if you can't feel the pattern and that you should play something else is really a stupid thing to say. I've been playing Dave for quite a while now and the only reason I'm having a problem with this song is because on some of his down strokes and up strokes-- as with ALL of his songs-- he's not even making contact with the pic to strings...

I'm looking for something like this....

EX.

d d ( u) u d ( d) d u u

in which the () means you don't play the strings.... you just keep the hand moving just like Dave does.... that's why its a tuff task.

I don't mean to cause a problem fatjack but if you know the pattern than just shut me up and post it... thanks.
