- Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": Do you use this word? Alcoves?
haha no prob - and yeah the whole stefan point for me is obviously not coming from a bass player so you're probably listening to/hearing more of that than i am - i'm kinda biased too, the LWS version was my favorite song forever, kinda reminds me of a bunch of good memories and stuffi like tictacs wrote:Thank you for explaining to me why you feel that way. I like Stefan's bass tone better in the LWS version, but I think his bassline in the Busted Stuff version is much more captivating/appropriate. The LWS version seems to drag. Live, I loved the 4th chorus, but on the LWS I don't like it too much. The energy wasn't captured too well in my opinion, compared to some of the live stuff. Thanks for not being a dolt.DJR07 wrote:its not necessarily about the production for me - i just think the LWS version is better - i like stefans part more, i like the wailing more, and i like that it doesn't have the "and it breaks her heart" parti like tictacs wrote:Why do people hate any sort of production? I'd much rather listen to Grey Street from BS than LWS.

GSR: Which new grey street? I love the early 02 versions, with 3 choruses. I HATE the 03 - present version with two choruses. It's just rushed and too fast in my opinion. I liked the old ones with three verses and four choruses where he improv'ed lyrics and told a story the most, but I can't get into the studio LWS version.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, the 2000/lillywhite versions were an orgasm of daveness.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away
