seems kinda long. obviously he has a lot of things to do, basses to make, not to mention have a life....but 2-3 years is a long time....i dont think id wait that long for a bass unless i was a professional musician...in which case my order would probably be bumped to the top

Carl still hasn't gotten my down payment yet... he ended up calling my house and talking to my dad's gf for like 15 minutes! He invited us down to his shop and to a bar to see one of his gigs. It's gonna be sweeeet, me and my buddy from school and my dad will probably go sometime, once he starts building my bass. We're gonna give the check a few more days, to see if he gets it in the mail, otherwise we're gonna have to cancel it and send a new one.

That's alot better looking than a CT. Why doesnt that guy ever use gloss finishes? Just like a clear lacquer?

he definitly finishes the wood with a clear oil finish... i forget the specifics.

I just wish he'd put nicer tops on his regular-people work. he leaves them oil finished but the woods he use , IMO, don't look good, like warwick woods which are oil finished and have depth to them. i think if he put some lusterous finish on them they'd look alot better. IMO...

I'm not a bass man, but these are really nice. I love the look of them. The dullness of the wood is great! If I played bass, and had money, I'd buy a Carl Thompson for sure.
