Fishman Ellipse Matrix Blend and my new Larrivee

Post by Trippin Hillbilly »

I tried this pickup out the other day and I've got say that it was pretty damn impressive. I'm thinking of getting installed on my new Larrivee (pictured below). The only thing i'm worried about is the feedback issues of having a condenser mic on stage.

Anyone else tried it?

nice pickup and guitar. Is that an OM-09? I love Larrivee's. I have an all mahogony OM that sounds amazing.

Oh yeah, sorry I have no input on the pickup's feedback issues though.

It's an OM-19 California special edition. It's awesome.

I paid $979.00 for it. It was a pretty good deal.

Compared to the sound of your martin... which do you prefer?

Very different sound. It's a bit brighter but it has a surprisingly good bass.
It's also not as boomy as my Martin which is a good thing. I still prefer my martin though.

is that the one with the palm tree inlay on the headstock? If it is, a place near me used to have one that sounded great.

So how exactley does that pickup mount on the guitar? I guess you could probably put it anywhere around the soundhole, but where were you planning on puting it? At the Bottom, so you can et your fingers under the baby e-string?

The one I played had it above the strings but I guess you could probably do either one.
