I've got the mp3's and in my opinion, it's not as bad as I thought but not that good either...some songs on it are very good, but overall, it really lacks direction...a lot of really odd points...lack of flow...chorus's are more pronounced in these songs which I like, but the songs in general need work. dave needs to focus on his strenghs (melody, acoustic, softer stuff) and let go of the electric guitar and all these heavy songs that just sound comedic...hopefully his next solo effort will be a lot stronger and more focused.

it was his first stab...most of the songs were written while in the studio. he said that things sort of snowballed into a solo album, so that may be why the album lacks direction. i think it let him experiment a little more, which may be even better for band material, which we've been lacking for so long now.

the band is dying out...I bet they have one more studio album before it's over and dave's just solo...and Sting's first solo album puts this one to absolute shame...not to say it's completely bad, but it's not like you can say that just b/c it's his first one makes it ok that it's not that good.
