Daves' Strings? Your Fav.?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

I don't mind spending $16-$18 bucks for Elixers, 3 or 4 times a year. I've spent good money on a Martin D16 and I think it's worth it buying good strings. I find them better for doing barre chords.Tree.

You're getting ripped off to no end if you pay $25 per pack of strings.

Never cared for coated strings and I regularly change mine anyway, so "wear" and "use" don't really come into play as an issue.

I'd rather buy in bulk strings at $6 per pack (D'Addario Lights).

Elixir Nanowebs-Light

After playing these, I don't think I will buy anything else. So smooth and easy to play on.

I tell ya if you use Elixrs (which are the best in my opinion, they last for ever!) then youll like the D'Darrio EXPs, I just recently switched to them because they are cheaper than Elixrs. I like light sets myself. Coated strings are the way to go, most others are dead the next day if you play shows like I do...even though my coated strings only last for 2 shows usually lol!

I just think paying extra for the coated strings is worth it because even when the sound fades a bit on them, the playability is still smooth as hell, unlike cheap strings that become rough after 2 days!

And whos is this guy paying 30 fuckin bucks a pack for elixrs!!?? The 12 string packs dont even cost that much!!!!

I got a set of Elixer Polyweb Lights, I have to say they almost brainwashed me into thinking they sounded good. After playing on them for a while I got used to them, but put on a new set of D'Addario 1 month later. The only thing they have going for them is that they don't produce a loud scratch sound when sliding. They sound way too unnatural to me, although the only other strings I've played on were D'Addario EXP.
