LIOG First Jam Question

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

LIOG First Jam Question

Post by dmb_josh »

I have been playing around with this song, and am trying to find some variations in a few of the jam sections. Through searches, I have found some cool chord progressions for the later jams, but haven't found any variations for the first small jam. Can anyone experience with this song shed some light? Instead of just the 3x5 slides is there anything else that works there that has a fuller sound?

Thanks,

Josh

Code: Select all

First small jam
E:-------------------------------------
B:-1--1\3----1--3---5----7-------------
G:-X--X-X----X--X---5----7-------------
D:-2--2\4----2--4---7----9---10---9----
A:-3--3\5----3--5---7----9---10---9----
E:------------------5----7---8----7----
Just octaves and such... let me know if that helps...

not sure how well you're playing, but just in case...

if you don't strum the jam, it'll sound like poop. you should strum it and it'll sound really full. IMO

but if that's not the advice you're looking for, sorry

Kukini, thanks for the tip, I will check that out and see how it goes for me.

Graves, yes I am strumming it, but have a hard time actually just strumming those 3 strings, and often the sound gets muddled. I just wanted to try something else - it may not work for me.

Hey man, can you please give me some links of where you found variations of the last jam for LIOG?
