Cocky friends who cant back it up?

theres a friend of mine who plays guitar.. he started playing a few months before me... im better than him thanks to dave.... however he thinks hes this amazing guitarist.. he can play stuff (not as hard as stuff i can play) and he cant pull it off smoothly... anyone have similar experiences?

similar experience:

there is this one guy who really sucks that i know and everyone thinks he awesome cuz he can play stupid rap songs and other various "novelty" songs.

but ask him to play a Ebm and he is totally lost....

yea... but they dont say theyre better than me.. theyre just like "uhhhh, youre too good"

like i have one friend who plays sweet child riff without using his pinky... sounds realy choppy

I know this one kid that always tells me my timing is off and tells me that I play songs wrong and stuff.. dave songs mind you.. and the fact is he has been playing less time then me, and practices not nearly as much and i'm like, 100% better then him at guitaring and he thinks he's a guitar god..
