Wind Cries Mary

Post by Wife Soup »

Hey, I'm trying to learn Wind Cries Mary by Jimi Hendrix, but I'm having trouble getting it down.

I'm using this tab: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/j/j ... ry_tab.htm

There is a part in the verse where he uses his thumb on the E string, but I just can't do it. Any alternatives?

What do you mean by that?

The chord's are listed above the tabbed notes. It's fairly easy song to play...just played whats tabbed out.

You can learn the John Mayer version. Its in a different key, but the scaled used is much easier to solo with IMO.

I just heard that for the first time over the weekend - nice version

I play this a lot and just use the bar chords that jimi plays. It is a bit lacking but I can't play the chords the way he does.
