anybody use these books before? I've heard they are pretty good for learning theory.

well nobody seems to know anything about it, but I got the Vol. 1 scales and modes book. It seems like it will be really helpful.

I've heard about it, but I've never actually looked at one. It can't be terrible if it sells so well.

I bought one of the books, I can't remember which one. I have been working on expanding my musical knowledge but have yet to pick this book up. It almost seems like too much(not in terms of cost).

I saw these books at the new Guitar Center here in town and was tempted to pick one up...

Let me know what you think of it. I need to learn some theory.

how do you know, if you haven't used it yet?

I have the Bass Grimoire, i don't need anything else in terms of finding scales or anything like that.

That's what i say. I bought the guitar grimoire(probably vol.1) and it has soo much shit in it that i really haven't progressed past the first 20-25 pages, not just cause i'm illiterate :wink:

my friend has been playing guitar w/ theory for years and he says the guitar grimoire I and II are the only books he'll ever need.

which one do you have? If you have the same one I do, the scales/modes book, then obviously its going to be useless for you if you dont use it to practice. The book is maybe 25 pages of reading, then 175 pages of different scales/modes.
