Topics about musical instruments other than guitar should go here. There's bound to be a Carter, LeRoi, or Yo-Yo Ma out there.

If one were to write down the flecktones music, it would just look like someone spilled a bunch of ink on the page. Absolutely amazing music. Every moment is filled perfectly. <drool>

so getting back into school and getting back into the jazz groove (in jazz band). Anyways, i was first chair this year, and am also this year (this year there is no one else playing bass.) I play electric bass and string bass. Last year, we had a different music teacher who wasn't really attached with the school all that much. He had me borrow the string bass for the summer to practice on. I signed some instrument release forms that allowed me to hold it for the summer. Well he left and I'm almost positive he didn't turn in the forms we signed, just because he's wierd and it doesn't seem like he would. I have gotten no word from the band parents, the school, or the new music teacher. Basically- my bass is in spiritual limbo, but physically mine. Consider it the latest acquistion

I can use a camera phone (). I'll buy a disposable and they can give me a disc of the pictures.

Does anyone have any experience with string bass pickups? If so, I would like your recommendations on pickups

its as if you turned up the gain on the bass, without actually turning anything up.
