I dont really have a fully developed musicalk ear yet but it sounds like the majority of chords in this song are Major and maybe a minor or 2. Can some one tell me the chrod progression in this song. Its the best song imo off of Heavier Things. I think its a Barre G then D then I cant really tell so can someone take a listen with a good musical ear and help me out...

well, here's my beef... in a guitar one magazine there was an article that had the music for no such thing: it said it was jazz. OOOO! A MAJ7 CHORD! HOW JAZZY! i know that was the guitar magazines fault, but i dislike when people overglorifying mayer's playing almost as much as i hate when people overglorify "dave chords"

I may be jumping to conclusions, but I really have a hard time believing he just sat down and picked all those songs up w/out basing them off tabs that Catherine, Alan, myself or Scott did...what's his sn?

I won't, maybe he is for real, but given the fact that he's seen Catherine's Comfortable tab, it stands to reason that he's seen other tabs...they do bear a striking similarity to them...the one's that don't are the one's that haven't been put up on the site yet that he seems to have had to work on on his own...they're just wrong...

you are just wrong. a barre chord is any chord in which you barre a finger to push down two or more strings at the same fret. even Dm7 is a barre chord (xx0311) where the 11 is a barre with the index finger.

and power chords give an easier transition for the listener when switching keys. like for C 5, F Major, G Dom 7, C5, Bb Major, Eb Major the first three chords are C major and the last are C minor. but you can make this work cuz of the C5.
