besides dave...

Post by shaggy »

besides dave what made you so into this band?

Carter stefan, and boyd are all great, but to be honest I'd have to say leroi on sax, when dave's not singing, it's like another voice for this band, i love it, and he can put so much emotion and cool stuff that can give the band it's real swing and with leroi playing, atleast for me, the bands full and true identity really comes out . When i say that, i'd like to used examples like the towards the end of Sugar Will with that riff, and then santana doubled the arrangement, or the whole note type of rythm in the intro of stone, #41, esp Spoon, the little improv he does for a couple bars, and so much more. i really like the input he has with this band

yeah leroi kicks ass...what comes to my mind is the last stop...especially the reprise

but for me id say carter...such a different feel and different drummer than just normal bands...and it sounds great...hes really key to the bands sound

I am glad to hear that so many people that are non-drummers appreciate carter so much because to me he defins the music sound of the band. He controls the flow and stands out as a leader to me, But then again they would be nothing without the sax and violin and stefan's wonderful abilities, tim too. It's just a pefect mix of musical flavours and minds that makes this band

I find this difficult because im very much a vocal person. I enjoy music because of the lyrics and because of the person singing them. If i didnt know the DMB and just heard the music and not the lyrics there is no way i could have fell in love with the band like i am now.
