Dave Matthews and John Mayer are just Sting wannabe's, the difference being that John actually knows what he's doing and Dave just stole all of the Sting chords

sting wrote most of the songs, andy summers I don't htink wrote much, stewart copeland did some but his songs weren't too good...sting was the brains...he's a classically trained guitarist ya know...he's the man...

sting made the basic songs and then andy added a lot of colors as sting says, if you listen to them live, the bass carries most of the rhythm with andy doing a lot of fill work along with the chords
