I was listening to an old Dave and Tim show, and dreamed I killed god was played. Did the guitar in this song go on to make its way into other songs? It sounded really familiar to me, but it was the first time I'd heard the song.

It vaugely resembles Nancies(at a faster pace) and Stay or Leave.

it sounded familiar to you because it has a very common chord progression: Em-D-C-Bm

This might have turned into Big Eyed Fish. They are pretty similar, except BEF is slower, and more mellow during the verse.
