I disagree (since I own one :)). My D-15 outperforms pretty much every other guitar i've heard sub-$1500.

So I have read over the posts (thanx for all the responses from those on DMBtabs.com). From what I hear, Alvarez are nice guitars, and Martins and Taylors do rock. But does anyone have an idea on prices, especially for Alvarez? Martins and Taylors, although the amount makes me cry, are easy to price, but Alvarez aren't the same. I have been to their website and all over the place. I haven't really found any good info on them. Does anyone have general numbers for Alvarez guitars? Once again, much thanks

peace
I love you oh so well, like a kid loves candy and fresh snow.

Well the time has come, and I do not really need to worry about all of this anymore. I gave in and got a guitar. A Washburn G30. For 129.99+tax this guitar sounds so great. It has a solid spruce top, great rosewood back and sides (the grain is gorgeous), and the tone is superb. It is definitely not a Martin or Taylor, but it is a great quality guitar. And for under $150, can I really complain? Thanx again to all

Does no one here like Guilds? I love those guitars. Their arch top electrics I think are better than Gibson. I am getting a d-55CE when I get the money.

i played a D-28 at a store close by and it sounded like crap. it was probably the strings they had on it because it was real sounded real tinny. i played like 3 chords and put it down. it was too bad cuz i really wanted to see what they sounded like.

the guitar store with martins here, they take GRETA care, since they have also the 3000 martins. They also have Taylors, and more really high quality guitars. They have only Martin SP+ on the martin guitars. the D-28 does not sound tinny at all. It's much more mellow and deep sounding, not twangy. Either you are playing a not well beuilt d-28 or bad/old strings.
