What Would You Say Jam ?

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

What Would You Say Jam ?

Post by Halcyon »

I've been playing it like this for a while now:

Code: Select all

E:---------------------------------
B:-8---8----2----------------------
G:-7---6----2--3--4----------------
D:-5---x----2--2--x----------------
A:-7---7-------3--2-----------5h7--
E:-----5--------------0-3p0--------
                        (2) 1_4
It doesnt sound necessarily right to me, so I asked my friend about and he told me that it is technically correct. The he pulled this out and said he preferred to play it this way:

E--------x--------------------------------------------------------x--------------------------------------------------
B--------8-----8-------------------------------------------------8-----8-------------------------x-----------------
G--------7-----6----------3---4---------------------------------7-----6-------------3----4----x----7--s----9--9
D--------6-----x----7----3---4---------------------------------6------x-------7-----3----4----x------------------
A--------7-----7----7----1---2---------------------------------7------7--------7----1----2----x----5--s---7---7
E---0-0(0)----5----5-------------0-0-p3 to-0-0-0-0--------(0)-----5-------5-----------------------------------

Well...i guess I was just wondering what you guys thought of this one.

If its any help. I remember looking at the video of Dave playing this song from some show. As far as I can remember he plays it the way the site has it tabbed.

Although that technically works......it is not how Dave plays it

thats my tab right? you should actually throw a little "p" up there on the "3fret", because Dave does do a pull of there...thats only the first part of the jam.

Hey, could someone make a recording of that jam available with the way it's tabbed on the site? I've always had a hard time getting that to sound "accurate." I'd really appreciate it...

DmbFanJason posted a recording of the jam quite some time ago...might want to do a search for that one.

I always switch off between the 0p3 0 and the 5h7 at the end to add a little variation to each jam riff.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away
