well i can say i don't mind dave's voice at all...i do feel it has improved dramatically over the years...but i agree about the mayer voice...a bit raspy

John Mayer’s whole band doest not even compare to Dave Matthews whole band, esp. when they got people like Victor Wooten and Tim Reynolds sitting in with them. John Mayer could not even compete with them. I read an interview with John Mayer one time that was posted on his web site and they asked him who he like to go see when he is not touring and he said (I will prob. go see the Dave Matthews Band and watch them kick my ass) I will agree that overall John prob is a little bit better guitar player, but he went to school for that Dave learned on his own and by playing with others.

I used to kinda like it till I bought any given thursday..........ahhh!!!!!!

i agree...you can really learn a lot from that DVD too...there's a lot of great camera angles that show all the different styles of guitar playing he culminates into his performance...i can't wait to see him on tour in august with counting crows...the voice sounds like a raspy whisper mixed with trying to give his audience the "oh face....oh-oh-oh"
