Bass in Sublime Songs

Have any of you guys really listened to the bass in many Sublime songs. One thing I love about their bassist is that it seems so much of his stuff is like actual riffs as opposed to just hitting the note of the barre chord Brad is playing. Listen to his stuff, he runs up and down the neck. Watch a live concert and you'll see it real well. Love their bassist...too lazy to check his name online though :)

There are a lot of bassists out there that are coming out of the norm part of just hitting the root or bass note of the guitarist. Sublime's bassist is indeed a good bassist. Bassists are doing similar to solo guitar stuff in just going the penatonic scales etc.

edit: Kanter- you might want to look into Les Claypool's stuff if you haven't heard of his stuff already. (Primus/Les Claypool's Frog Brigade). It's some great stuff. It is a very different style, though, for a selective audience

he was my fav. bass player until i started listening to dmb

now he is a close second to stefan...


While I have great respect and love the wootens, stanley clarke's, etc...stefan and eric (wilson) are always my fav. to listen to
