Daves technique...

I've searched on the forum but I didn't find a thread about his technique.
Anyone know if there's a thread for that?
Like tips and stuff that can be goog to know when you start playing daves songs.
Like how i mute the strings and so on.. I have problem to mute the strings right in some songs.
Anyone know a thread like that?

ive been playing for almost a year now, and i can play some songs pretty good. some things i learned over the time ive been practicing is learn how to correctly position your hands on the fretboard to make it easier for muting. ussually if you are fretting the notes or chords correctly you should be naturally muting the strings that need to be muted with your fingers. another tip is to always keep your strumming hand flowing. if you ever watch dave play his wrist and hand moves like a butterfly it is very loose and smooth. just watch the videos that either pat, gianni, or kanter made they are very helpful. just keep practing and keep at it and you will get better and better. these were some of the things i was told when i first started to play dave and they were helpful to me. if you have more specific questions i might be able to help you out more.

i know ive only been playing for a short time but i can help you with what people have helped me with and the information i was told. good luck.

yeah its not the best analogy because he is very aggressive almost like he is attacking the strings but in a way its like a butterfly because his hand is always in a smooth moving motion going up and down.
