Not at all. When I think DMB, I think skinny Dave with long hair in pajamas and his black Chet. I think thats the Dave that got the majority of us hooked to their music.

what did he play at red rocks?

I am certain it is. It has the sound and Red Rocks falls smack dab in the middle of the chet's "work horse" years.
