Hey does anyone know what bands dave listens to when he isnt playing. In a rolling stone he mentioned radiohead and the beatles, has there been more bands spoken of?

also does anyone know what songs he plays on guitar other than the covers?

Well when me and dave hang out (about once a week) we like to go to the dmbtabs.com recording forum and check out everyone's work.

You know I was IMing Dave just yesterday and I found out that Dave is a big fan of artists such as Ratt, Whitesnake, Skid Row, and Cinderella. He is currently contemplating doing an compilation album of hair band covers and is currently trying out leather pants and different wigs to wear on the cover. Blond or Black, he just can't decide.....

i just think it is funny that the other day there was a post from the mods about sarcastic remarks and un-helpful comments....and then a mod makes the first comment in this thread...... B E A utiful!!

it was helpful, how would any of us possibly know that????? no one here is close with dave, how could any of us know. none of us have been to his house to hear what music he plays in his home.

wow that changes everything thanks for making it bigger I couldnt read it before.

It is kind of obvious that anyone they have done a cover of, dave and the band enjoy and listen to. (Lanois, The Beatles, Lyle Lovette, etc.) But the title of thread is Home Radio Songs. The majority of the people who interview dave ask questions about (gasp) the Dave Matthews Band. the point of doing a radio interview is to promote an upcoming tour, album, etc. I dont really feel like arguing about this because it is fucking pointless.

you didnt even start this thread, so i dont even see the point of you arguing for or about it.

I am defending the guy because I thought his question was rather clear. He was asking if dave mentioned in any interviews his personal choices of favorite music to listen to in his free time. A respectful answer would be to just say you don't know. Instead, this dude gets a bunch of sarcastic replies to his post like people saying they will im dave and ask him. I don't have any beef with you wkpgggrvn. I actually have a lot of respect for you and your comments.

To Davehasbangs: From what I have gathered over the years, dave likes The Beatles, Bob Marley, Led Zeppelin, The Band, Sly and the Family Stone, The Jackson 5, Willie Nelson, Elvis Presley, Phish, Soul Coughing, Simon and Garfunkle, Jason Mraz, A bunch of African musicians that I can't even begin to write out their names, and probably a ton of other stuff that no-one here has ever heard of before.

And, finally, personally I think a topic of dave's shoes is a tad bit more obsessive than wondering what music may have influenced the amazing writing that we all apparently love........ No hard feelings intended.
