sorry ISAAC (there, you happy?) and we should definetly jam sometime! no one near me plays anything like DMB, mayer, or anything acoustic. makes me sad

is it like that in lawrence?

People dig DMB round here...but almost too much you know? I think I talked to Isaac or someone about this in another thread. Like you want people to listen to good music but DMB feels like you're little secret and when it gets out and every other person in your school likes them it kinda sucks. That didn't happen here, but some pretty annoying people are always screaming like 12 year old girls at a John Mayer concert, about how they love DMB. Can anyone relate or am I a selfish asshole

almost all the kids in my school are acid rockers, its a bad neighborhood here in Belton..... o well just me and my geeetar

hehe, yeah, you talked to me about it in another thread, and a lot of other people agreed too.

anyway, lawrence is a major rock scene. a lot of national artists come out from here...not many acoustic acts, and if they are they're either 1) incredibly bad 2) incredibly boring 3) country 4) really really outdated.

lol. tanner walle's about the closest thing to mayer (digs jt, and all that) but it's nothing really that great, either.

so i'm an acoustic loser. WHOO!

fortunately, there are a few great jazz acts around here.

one has actually opened up for Karl Denson's Tiny Universe. awesome stuff.

we have one really good jazz act here, but they play somewhere that is 21 and older *sniff* but my dad snuck me in there once and they are amazingly good.

we have two kinds of performers here. dave covers, and the hippies that strum one note really loudly while sprouting off their "i hate the government" poems. you know the stuff you want to snap your fingers to after they're done.

lol. tanner's all right, but i don't tell this to his face cuz we talk sometimes.

he has a great jazzy vibe, but there are some things left to desire. though his lead guy, Mike, i think, is great.
