He only broke 1 string last weekend in West Palm when playing Too Much. I brought my binoculars and could see Monk to the left of the stage in his workstation, restringing and tuning the guitars.
Marc Broussard, the opening act, broke 3 strings on his Taylor T5 during the last song. He was pissed and threw the guitar on the ground before he walked off stage.
"Thank you everybody so much again for tonight. We hope you had a good time with us. We're kind of relaxed and y'all hopefully y'all relaxed too. This is beautiful humidity. We enjoy it and everybody take care of yourselfs. Muaha..." DM

If you play like Dave does, absolutely.
i play dave songs, obviously not as well as even most people here, but still, and my takamine $100 guitar stays in tune for days at a time....
I didn't say if you play Dave's songs, I said if you play like Dave does, meaning absolutely attacking the strings with every strum, jumping around, etc. etc. I bet you don't break 3 strings a night playing Dave songs, but Dave does.
Ive been to plenty of concerts and never seen him break a string.
You're a liar. He broke a few at Burgettstown this year. I questioned the random switch of guitars during a setbreak...the songs didn't change tuning and he didn't bring out the 12 string. He definately busted a string or two.
haha, calling me out huh. I only went to night two and I was extremely drunk. I didnt say he never broke strings, I just said I never saw him (or remembered him doing it)

actually he doesnt stay in tune very much...it depends on the night...sometimes his voice's good and kicks ass, some other times it's really fucked up...

It's funny because the no. 1 reason people don't like DMB, when I personally ask them is because they can't stand Dave's voice.
~ And rain washed away all her tears and I smiled done away was the sum of all my fears ~
