i knew dave didn't use extra lights...he is a very hard strummer and would break them left and right:

Jonathan's Question: I am really excited about the new page. Your techincal gear list is great. I am planning to get into to professional sound and this feature will be used a lot. I have an easy question to start with. To Monk: What is the model and gauge of the D'Addario strings Dave uses? And, if i can ask a second question: What are the gauges of Stefan's strings? DMB Road Crew Answer: Thanks for the kind words. Dave plays primarily on D'Addario strings. Model EXP17. Gauges 56, .45, .35, .26, .17, .13

yeah, people saying he played EXP15's were all idiots. i am positive he used to use EXP16's but switched a while back.

are the EXP's the coated D'Addario strings?

how do they compare to elixers?

Please someone ask on that sight what kind of pick dave uses!!!!

ya they are the coated ones. the difference in sound between them and elixers are the elixers have a much brighter tone to them and a bigger attack. plus they are a hell of a lot more expensive
