Vocal problem... help :(

Post by davembfan85 »

Okay, I think I might need to go see some sort of throat doctor or something. For the past 3-4 years now I've had a constant amount of this very thick clear saliva that seems to be in my throat, sometimes I spit some of it up, and it has some black stuff in it... I thought it might be smoke? I never smoke, and I'm rarely ever around it... however I used to be when I was a kid up until about 5-6 years ago. Anyway, I really feel like I could be hitting notes a LOT more powerfully and clearly if I could get rid of this stuff, or maybe even possibly thin it. Sometimes when I reach some really powerful notes, like the climax point in Say Goodbye, it gets so thick that I can't even get those notes to come out... Anyone know where I should go, or what I should do to try to fix this? Thanks a ton to anyone who has ideas...

Get it checked out. 9/10 you're just not singing correctly, if you sing from your nose or the back of your THROAT you'll develop pain and tenderness.
