recording piano???

I was messing around on the piano the other day...i've been playing for a while and am pretty good. I tried playing the chord progression on Lie in our Graves in the left hand w/ the chicago tim reynolds solo in the right hand. It sounded pretty sweet. Anyone have a clue how to record that easily?

Use a mic of some sort.

If it's an actual piano, put the mic about 12-18" over the middle c strings. i guess, well, over the middle c wire, whatever you want to call it

They make piano mics that are long and flat and rest over the strings. Probably way too expensive for your needs though.

if it's a wall piano, just open the top and place your mic so it's inside the enclosure. it wont be great, but it'll do what you need it to. i did it with a labtec computer mic and it worked fine.

i'll have to find one of my friends that just has an old mic, i dont wanna buy one. i'll post it if i ever do it. thanks for the help.
