if you could create a DMB setlist....

So you're amazed as to how Dave's rhythm guitar slaps and strums so "perfectly"...but you can't. Ask all things about Dave and his guitars here.

the problem with asking everyone to do big long lists, especially setlists is that i just don't pay attention after a while. :(

I'd like to take this opportunity to say that I dont really care that much about the set...I mean, of course there are songs I hope to hear, but no matter what they play, if the energy isnt there, the set doesnt matter that much. Take a look at these 2003 shows...on paper, they look pretty damn great. Energy-wise, they're kinda shitty. (Feel free to argue with me there, but before you do, watch a vid or listen to a show from about 1996ish.)

What I'm trying to say is "what kind of Two Step am I talking about in my set?" Am I talking about Two step ala red rocks/11-09-96 at the cow palace, or am I talking about two step with butch taking a 15 minute energy-draining-slow-as-molasses-solo?

Anyway, my ideal setlist: One with a little inspiration and heart behind it. They still pop up every now and then, but not nearly as frequent or intense as in the past. I'll say this: I've been to something like 12 shows since 98. I've seen ONE that MIGHT fall into the category I'm talking about. (And it was Gorge Night 3 of last year, from the 14th row.) I think things are pretty stagnant right now, like theyre just touring cause thats what they've done for the last 12 years or whatever.

Sorry for the long winded post, and again, feel free to disagree. (But your opinion doesnt hold water with me if your first show was in the last several months, for obvious reasons. Sorry. )

thats a good point about what "kind of two step". energy does mean a lot at a live show, and its definitely lacking compared to the previous years..But in Dave's defense, he really did give it his all, he fuckin screamed his head off at the shows this year, almost to the point where I'm like "Whoa Dave chill out, your heads going to explode"....the rest of the band members seem like they don't care, except carter maybe... I felt "some" energy at the shows this year...I think energy also has something to do with where your seats are too...good point though mike.

LOL!!! I love the idea of a 2 hour outro...I feel bad for Leroi and Boyd though.
I love you oh so well, like a kid loves candy and fresh snow.

I think DMB should get together every guest they've ever had and just jam for 2 hours. IMO that would be ill.
