I haven't been to a concert yet this summer, (going to 7-9 and 7-10 -also red rocks if they final book a date-) but I was wondering how the new songs sound live? Some I have heard, ie.. dream girl, you might die trying, american baby, bayou, hello again (obviously) but there are other's I haven't heard yet like Old Dirt Hill, Stand Up, Smooth Rider, Everybody Wake Up.
I like them on the cd, but like all dmb's songs, hearing them live is what really gets me. I'm just curious to what you all think.....thanks
p.s. if there's a previous thread about this, sorry
Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": The food court is downstairs. The cookie stand is upstairs. It's not like we're talking quantum physics here.
Head over to bt.etree.org and dl some of their recent shows. They have been getting really fucking good in the last week, especially with Robert Randolph!

I am so damn envious. The gorge can't come quick enough.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away
I've seen three shows so far this summer. All of the new songs get better each time. The band plays with so much more energy live than can be captured on any album. Bayou is a great song but Die Trying get this band going. At Deer Creek, Dave brought back a classic "Dave dance" during parts of this song that was ridiculous. All of the high enery songs on the CD are better live. My only complaint is that Out of My Hands and Old Dirt Hill are kinda dead live. Everything else is so much better than any hip hop producer could churn out of the cookie cutter.
