Blower's Daughter Cover

Okay, so I threw this together just now...sort of on a whim. I am attempting to put together a CD of sharpened recordings of mine...and Damien Rice is one of my favorite artists, so I had to include this song. Pretty much I'm looking for all of your opinions as to whether or not I should include this..like does it have enough potential or not. I know that right now it's definitely messy, I botched the guitar part a couple of times as well as some vocal parts. I guess, in other words, should I do a cleaned up version of this and include it on my CD? Also, if and when I do redo it what corrections should I make and what should I focus on? Let me know..thanks guys.

Wow, I just got to the first chorus and thought you sang it extremely well. The guitar is pretty on, a little faster than normal but still cool nonetheless. Great job overall

For some reason false notes sung by a woman stings more in my ears than a male singing a false note. My point is that, even though there are very few notes that are false it really HURTS my ears...

The interesting thing is that the false notes are recurring, "So it IS" and "In her SKY"

The high notes = Pain...

Overall this is way better than I can do this hard song and the guitar is really impressive, solid and never dull rhythm. But try to listen to yourself and train away the few but recurring false notes and this will be gold!

Yeah, one more thing.

Try to add expression to your singing and guitar playing. The original is really emotional and it shows through the playing and singing.

Try to increase and lower volume of your voice at appropiate times and adjust the guitar with fewer strokes and softer strokes when it fits, like at the end.

that's sweet you are putting together a cd. I'll be working on something this summer as well = )

hmmm....

now for a critique.

guitar sounds great to me. vocals are wonderful as well, really, really nice voice you have whit.

I would try getting quiter at times almost to a whisper for chips and giggles and let those end notes linger sometimes, resonant in it.

more power behind the breath on the high notes, breathing through the diaphragm.

really great whit, you strum circles around me!

Wow, Whit this sounds REALLY good. Your voice is beautiful for this song and the guitar sounds lovely. I don't know the song very well but one of the chords around 3:25 sounds funny...I dunno maybe that's how he wrote it.

but yeah definitely put this on your cd plz. <3333333333333333333

yeah, that chord didn't sound right to me either...i think the tab must have been wrong.

and also..listening to that little bridge part again..vocals are rough on that..wooooooo yikes
