does anyone else find #40 difficult to play. i found another way, x355xx, x255xx, 1x55xx, 3x55xx. the strech is a little and my E string "hums" on the 1, but every time i try the real version, well i suck

This is one of the easier tunes by Dave out there, and for me at least, when I finally learned it, it unlocked a lot of other songs for me.

Try it with your fingers and then move up to using a pick. The tab here is accurate. Try watching a video of it. With practice you'll get it. It takes time to learn any song. You can do it!

Definitely a great song to work on walking bass lines. Just keep at it and maybe try playing along to the Listener Supported version.

If you are having trouble reaching to get some of the notes take a look at how you are holding your guitar. If the body is close to you and the neck is going away and you are reaching a lot the fretboard then that limits the mobility of your hand. Try bringing the neck closer to you . You will find by doing this it is easier to play some of Dave's song were stretching is involved. The improved mobility of your hand should make a difference.
