Isn't it though? That dude freakin' blows me away everytime I hear him. I would pay money to have a voice like that.NoNotThat wrote:trippin hillbilly I just have to say your voice is so awesome!

awesome stuff. would've preffered a cleaner vocal track, though...didn't like the what was it...reverb? not sure. anyway, roast's background vocals went a long quite a lot better than mine would've.
glad i had the opportunity to get in on this, though. great job, again. wish we coulda heard all the tracks.

Yeah...Trippin did a good job with the vocals...perfect for this song I think. I hadn't heard the electric lead until just now. I like what was added.NoNotThat wrote:WOW! that is so good you guys!!! trippin hillbilly I just have to say your voice is so awesome!
::applause::
I also hadn't heard the background vocals. Good job Roastbeef!

kinda gutsy billy...i mean its a joint effort right?
Anyway yea, about the electric, its like i told roast. this sounds a little too acoustic to have a lot of lead in there. i had a song full, be we decided that just keeping the electric in the chorus would be good enough and we would let trippin's voice do the rest. kick ass trippin.
anyway, yea we should definetly do this again, a full band effort next time. i know you tried roast, and i commend it.

I didn't mean for that to single my section out just to show it off. It seemed like he was curious or something. Anyway, you're probably right, it's gone.Appsoldier wrote:kinda gutsy billy...i mean its a joint effort right?![]()

Good job all around...though I must say Miguel's voice stands out. WOW. I'd prefer the vocs cleaner, but it still sounded great. Maybe if I wasnt working 50 hrs a week I could get in on one of these.
Oh, and one suggestion: Roastbeef, edit the link into your original post on the first page of the thread...thats where I looked first, and it could get buried here if people reply enough.
Again, great job guys. Sounded real pro.

Hmm, well about the vocals. This guy I work with has been recording things for years and he told me that whatever you do, be sure each part has it's own "location" in the stereo field. He also gave me a tip that I used on Trippin's voice. I duplicated his track and panned one fully left, and one right. On the left track I applied a fair amount of reverb and the right I left dry. It certainly gives a very "full" sound and almost makes it sound like there's a delay applied. If you haven't listened to this through headphones, do that and you really hear how it supposed to sound. I personally love how it came out, but I'm certainly no expert.mbgreen wrote:stands out. WOW. Ah....very good point. Will do. Thanks!mbgreen wrote:Oh, and one suggestion: Roastbeef, edit the link into your original post on the first page of the thread...thats where I looked first, and it could get buried here if people reply enough.
Likewise billy. Your part really adds to the rhythm. My part sounded kinda weak just on the six string and your addition fills it out nicely.billywestom wrote:Yeah...Trippin did a good job with the vocals...perfect for this song I think. Well, I tried on the vocals. Trippin's voice really doesn't need support, but there are some key background parts in GS I felt should be added. I think I hit most of the notes.
