Love Sugar Will. Can't play it longer than 30 seconds at a time, and then not very well.

i'm working on Recently, If I Had it All and Fool to Think. All 3 are difficult for me to sing/play...Fool to Think is easy to sing along with dave, but if i try it by myself, I can never get the notes right. i just started learning Recently and If I Had it All, they're just taking longer than most.

because it really ephasizes the fact that dave really knows how to mute his guitar strings. I dont think anyone could ever really sound like the songs because of the way he controls the strings. and its so cool. how many bands out there do anything else to the thing cept play softer or louder.
Dave's style is very unique. He uses his pinky.

Funny, I sang this one like 4 times today. If you listen to the song enough, you can hear it in your head, the voicings come easily while playing. For me anyways, which might be why I can sing and play most every Dave song I know.
I have this kickass D&T version which I got way back in my kazaa days that I prefer to the UTTAD version. That has helped a ton.

Maybe I misread it and don't mean to sound like an asshole, but if you can't play those chords, how can you play the verse?

Don't learn it as a slide ... Get a vid of Dave playing it somewhere and learn it that way ... It's not as easy but it's better because you have more control over string muting with your index finger than you do if you just slide you ring and pinkie all over the place :)

My $.02 of course :)

rapunzel. not that i can't play it, but it sounds like ass on one guitar and that pisses me off cuase it's such a great song. plus the "i'd do my best for you" part always throws me off rhythm wise.
