yeah i know what bartender is sayin because we go to the same school. if u walk downstairs there a bunch of peope playin guitar and its sucks becaus its all punk. nobody is ever playin the classics! y'all know what im tlakin about

I give you more respect for liking Musicians and not Performers like Justin Timberlake and Eminem!

hah. yeah. i hate people in the industry who try to come off as "performers" and call it valid. music should not be about "performing" in terms of the "artists" you just mentioned.

many would argue that point. i wrote a big long schpiel about it before...to sum it up would be that rap is more akin to spoken word/poetry/whatever you want to call it, so it'd be more performance art, as stated before, than really "music." and there are some rappers out there that are decent, i.e. their content, but we're just exposed to the overproduced ones who talk about they hoes n' bling bling.

rap isn't music...its talking with rhythm.

i like the "musicians over performers" philosophy. thats the way to go.

Yes thats the way I look at it. You play an instrument with 3,4..5 other people, and you all come together to make some kind of music, then your a musician, and I give you credit. But if your jus up there dancing around singing like a girl with 4 other people, or getting 10 of your homies on stage and rapping. Sorry, no respect for that here.
