Exactly. I just dont think its right for one person to go through all the hassle of uploading stuff for some person else when all they have to do is dl a program and they can get it themselves, much more shit on top of that, and give back.

i have a .mac so i can't get soulseek, or antsdownloader. i know, .mac joke here. so the only way i can get the lost acoustics is through either AIM or a yousendit.

What I can't wait for is fiber optics. Verizon is laying lines in our area now. With the dsl I have, the upload is only 15kb/s, so uploading videos takes forever. But with fiber optics, I will be able to give so much more with blazing speeds.

Sharing should definately be a quid pro quo transaction. Hard to do with no upload, but my years of being reserved about requests are almost over.

This place is not very receptive to newcomers...

I apologize for not knowing the rules and regulations around this kind of thing, but I've never been big on SoulSeek and other such programs because it's far too easy to download something that is copyrighted. I know I'm probably going to get torn apart for saying that, but I'm not familiar with the program so I don't know if there is any way to download only non-copyrighted stuff. Please don't get mad at me for posting this - it's just kind of frustrating when people get aggravated over something that you didn't know was taboo.

Please dont think that, this place is much more receptive to new posters then most boards I know of. If it seems someone is being mean to you, theyre probably just messing around and you dont know theyre personality and are taking them too seriously (if youre referring to my post above, he asked to a link that is one of the biggest threads on the boards and if he even looked for 20 seconds he'd find it, just trying to get him to realize sometimes you just have to look a little instead of having someone else hunt things down for you, something extremely easy to find in this case). As for dl'ing things, if youre scared/against/whatever downloading copywritten things, thats fine. Its pretty obvious what to do, just dont download official albums. Many of us have live shows and compilations (such as the lost acousticts) get on soulseek if you really want them and dl them.
